Boring choices on purpose. Plain-stack code outlives the consultant. If you have a stack already, we'll meet you there.
What we mean by “website”
A site you can run a marketing operation on. Not a brochure that nobody updates. Not a Notion page in disguise. A real static site with a real CMS behind it, served from a global edge, that you can hand to a non-engineer and they can publish a post without a deploy.
We build with Astro by default — it ships zero JavaScript when you don’t need it, and React/Vue/Svelte components when you do. For richer apps with auth or interactivity, we drop down to Next.js 16.
Why teams hire us for this
- Performance is non-negotiable. Every page goes through Lighthouse CI on every commit. Sub-1s LCP on a 4G connection is the floor, not the ceiling.
- The CMS is for editors, not engineers. We pick the right CMS for your team’s literacy — Sanity for design-conscious editors, MDX-in-git for technical teams, Contentful for enterprise.
- Design that ages well. Type, color, and motion tokens — not a hodgepodge of one-off components. Six months from now, the homepage and the new product page will still look like the same site.
What success looks like
Six months after launch you’ve published 30 articles, your team is uploading content without engineering tickets, and your Core Web Vitals are still in the green. The site has paid for itself in lower bounce rates, higher conversion, and engineering hours not spent firefighting.
Common questions
Things people ask first.
Yes — GitHub repo on day one, MIT-licensed by default. No vendor lock-in, no escrow drama.
Optional retainer ($800/mo) covers fixes, updates, content uploads, and uptime monitoring.
Yes — most migrations from WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or hand-rolled HTML take 1–2 weeks.
We target sub-1s LCP and 95+ Lighthouse on every page. Performance is a budget, not a hope.
Copywriting, photography, and stock asset licensing are not included — bring your own or budget separately.
